Santi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an excellent red wine from the Valpolicella Classico region in Veneto, Italy. This wine represents the classic and high-quality Amarone style that is appreciated worldwide.
The grapes for Santi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico are carefully selected from the Valpolicella Classico vineyards and undergo a special process called "appassimento". After manual harvesting, the wines are dried through a natural drying process. Followed by a cold maceration of one week and a long fermentation of four weeks at a maximum temperature of 22° C. After fermentation, the wine matures for an average of 30 months in French oak barrels of 25 hl. and in French oak tonneaux. Before the wine goes on sale, it matures for months in the bottle.
The wine has a deep ruby red color and offers a complex aroma with notes of ripe cherries, dried plums, spices, chocolate and a subtle woody touch.
